National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification and commenced the online registration process for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 Examination. This premier national examination determines eligibility for Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Lectureship (LS) / Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programs in recognized Indian universities and research institutions.
Eligible candidates with Postgraduate degrees in Science subjects (M.Sc., BS-MS, B.Tech, B.Pharma, MBBS) can submit their online application through the official website at csirnet.nta.ac.in before the closing date.

The exam is conducted as a single paper comprising Three Parts (Part A, Part B, and Part C) with total duration of 3 Hours (180 Minutes). All questions are multiple choice objective type questions:

CSIR UGC NET is conducted in 5 scientific disciplines: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
Candidates must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree / Integrated BS-MS / BS 4 Years / BE / B.Tech / B.Pharma / MBBS with at least 55% marks for General/EWS/OBC and 50% for SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender.
Maximum age limit for JRF is 30 years as of the prescribed reference date (with category relaxation). There is no upper age limit for Lectureship / Assistant Professor.
The examination will be conducted strictly as a Computer Based Test (CBT) across designated centers nationwide.
